Telling Nature’s Stories

At heart, I’m a storyteller.

Through North Harris Studio, I explore the natural world through art, science and storytelling. I'm drawn to the lives of other species, the stories held within landscapes, and the connections between people and the places they inhabit. I choose the medium that best brings each story to life, whether that's painting, sculpture, illustration, writing, film or a project that invites people to explore and create alongside me.

My work is inspired by both art and science. I love learning from the natural world and working with scientists, communities and local knowledge to discover new ways of seeing and understanding the places and species around us.

Looking after the environment is an important part of what I do. Wherever possible, I use reclaimed, recycled and sustainable materials, because I believe the way we make art should reflect the values behind it.

Above all, I hope my work encourages people to slow down, look a little closer, and reconnect with the natural world.
